Breaking All the Rules

One night, from the second floor, I dropped a bag of trash over the balcony and into a can where trash and flies would accumulate in and around the trash cans. I had seen Manager1-T‘s friend do it, so I thought it was acceptable.
The next morning, there was a book of rules posted on my door.
Some of the things it said, included, “Do not drop trash from the second floor.”
I wish I could find it. I am somewhat of a hoarder, and it should be with my stack of papers, but it is not. It is one of several things that I found had gotten itself lost.
Guests Are Not Allowed to Speak to Each Other at Extended Stay America
One of the rules, read something like this: “Guests are not allowed to talk to one another.” Unfortunate that the proof went missing. Also missing was a high-dollar check, and someone broke the clip on my tripod that holds the camera.
Guests MUST Leave the Room When Housekeeping Comes
The headline says it all.
Who Follows the Rules? Me, that’s who.
One of my thoughts was, if I follow her bogus rules, maybe they will ease up on the harassment.
No dice!
And still they constantly disrespect me. This happened very early in my stay at Extended Stay America. And I have precisely followed the rules since they were first created for me and given to me. How kind of Manager1-T and her staff.
It was just another way to show their disrespect to me, and it shows that they believe I am pretty dumb. I never said anything, because I am not one to make waves. I didn’t know that she’d would gather so many people over so many years to toil her games and to keep degrading me- everyday for close to seven years. She and they, never quit and rarely take a break. But they sure do love their breaks from real hotel business. Piles of cigarette butts helps prove that.
Sometime soon after I was given the book of rules, I saw Policeman1 drop his trash over the side. He is the one I copied that inspired Manager1-T to write those special rules just for me. He then lit up a cigarette and smoked it next to my room, which was next to his room. He also didn’t have to follow the “Don’t Smoke Within 100 Feet of the Building.” I’d see people all over the place smoking and talking to one another. Listen, I’m not going to break the rules just because others have and do. People who know me, know that I’m a stickler for rules. Rules help show that we are civilized.
He is also the guy that would play his TV too loud, who came to my door to ask me if I had seen Manager1-T who he said had been missing. And the same guy whom Manager1-T repeated the same phrase a year later that she just talked to him and his TV is not on. Lotta history with this guy. Major player in the game of cheat me.
Recently, when I was on my way to my car, a man on the first floor opened his door and asked me to come over to him. I did. Note that this happened years after I was given the book of rules, and note that he spoke to me first.
He said he did not know how to use the key card and didn’t want to leave the room. I showed him how it’s supposed to work, and while we were standing there, MaintenanceMan2 hurried over and said, in an authoritative voice, “What is going on here?” He said in an accusitory way that made me feel like I had something wrong. All I did was answer a question a man asked me.
I said to the man, “This man can help you better than I can.” And I said to MaintenanceMan2 that the man needed help with his card. Then I continued to my car.
