When a Tree Falls and no One is There, Does it Make a Sound?
Last Updated on November 15, 2023 by ESAReviewsComplaints
I have studied this problem, and with the help of neighbors at the hotel, I have come to the conclusion that no, it doesn’t make a sound.
You might ask, “If you weren’t there, how do you know it didn’t make a sound?”
Well, I’ll tell ya- neighbors who turn up their TV that comes from that side of my room, also turn up another gizmo that plays loudly, and that comes from a different place than where the TV is located. The noise is so loud, that it is obvious that the TV cannot be heard the way it should be, because if I can hear the distortion and static in the room next to the TV and other gizmo, then it must be impossible for people in that room to enjoy the shows. I know where the TV is located because the doors to the rooms are right next to each other in twos, and the other room is a copy of the same room as mine, but facing the other way. Does that make sense? Mirror images. Picture it. All the rooms in probably most hotels are like that.
I pondered whether management has asked friends to stay in the room next to mine, just so they can purposely disturb me, but as we all know, that is crazy. Ahem, ‘they’ must have thought of other reasons to stay here too-LOL.
It’s JUST crazy!
I mean certainly, ‘they‘ must have put ‘their’ heads together to find a less conspicuous way to purposely bother people. So… how crazy can I be!? That I would (even) think of that? (Read up on Manager1-T, and it might be easier to determine how crazy I must be. In fact, use the whole site! I might be really very far gone!)
Like said, I’ve been told that nobody is bothering me on purpose and that everything that happens here is just people going about their business. I mean, golly-gee, why on Earth would a hotel, whose business is to treat people to feel they are at home away from home, do anything like that? (Why? is a very good question.) Especially regularly for six and a half years? It would be the opposite of what everybody in the world knows about how hotel employees treat people at hotels. So I am saying that although it sounds that way to me, I must be wrong about it. (I mean, if it all were true, imagine how it would affect the hotel business and privacy concerns.)
The writer of this post is absurd! And crazy!
But what about the tree falling and all of that? I was just coming to that part of the story. I noticed that when I leave the room and the noise is that loud, it must be in my mind. Just like when I come back to the room hours later, it is quiet. But after I’ve been here a few minutes, the TV and gizmo comes back on amidst the door slams. And because I’ve been told that everything is normal, instead of it being suspicious, it must be in my head. I think they might have been so helpful as to actually tell me that! Or maybe I overheard something. I’m not exactly positive on that, because when you’re crazy, you never know. So because when I come back to the room and they have yet realized that I’m back, the sound cannot be heard. Sometimes. I guess when ‘they’ are not paying close enough attention- I mean these people must have lives of their own! They must! Whose life is so horrible they must spend time harassing me? And why me- I am not anyone special, as far as I know.
To me, it is hard for me to concentrate on my own shows, music, writing and everything else with such loud, obnoxious audio going on, but since Extended Stay America has assured me that it is normal for that to take place, well, it makes it a little easier to understand why. If I were a different person, it might sound different to me, but I sure would not want to have to watch TV and listen to music all the time at that volume- I mean, it vibrates, so the audio is extended because of that, and if they really were doing in on purpose, it would be a great way to tell you that for the past six and a half years, you’ve been *****, by strangers.
But there’s always the possibility that no one is in that room, since the door slams every few minutes, I don’t know if the neighbors are there or not. Or even if they are neighbors, cuz that room was used by employees before I got here and for quite some time afterwards, in fact, a whole year went by without a noise. At the end of that year, they asked me to give them a review-LINK. Because I complained to the office about it at the time, there is no way employees would be the cause of the noise because I explained to them that it is distracting and it can drive you crazy being no way to get relief except to leave the room. So, obviously they wouldn’t try to annoy a “guest” since the main theme is hospitality here at Extended Stay America. Here’s more about not being in the room in a story about Manager1-T ‘bursting’ in and saying no one is in that room even though it was obvious THE ROOM WAS BEING USED SPECIFICALLY TO CAUSE ME PSYCHOLOGICAL HARM. But… remember, according to the people who run this place, I’m crazy, so I don’t know what I’m talking about.
